5 Leadership Strategies That Women Excel At

  • by

In honor of March being Women’s History Month, we’re going to look at female leadership and how women uniquely excel as being leaders in society, the workplace, at home, and amongst friends and family today. Until the turn of the century, women weren’t exactly associated with the word “leader” or permitted to participate in leadership-based roles. However, with female advancements and more emphasis being placed on women’s unique leadership skills and strategies, more organizations, businesses, and agencies are capitalizing on female leaders around the world.

Here are 5 leadership strategies that women excel at:

  1. Listening:

Women are born with an uncanny ability to listen more effectively and profoundly than male counterparts. Women are taught at a young age to be subservient and observant of all household and children’s needs, causing them to develop a talent for listening. To be a great leader requires a lot more reflection and listening skills than it does acting skills. To know how to lead, you need to listen first.

  • Team-Bonding:

Women have no problem with collaboration, working well with others and within teams. Women like to share ideas and work together to come to new conclusions that were otherwise unknown. The best leaders in the world are the ones that recognize we’re stronger together than we are apart, which all female leaders know too well.

  • Approachability:

Female leaders have no problem making themselves accessible to those in need. As opposed to male leaders, which can sometimes drift towards solitude surrounded by a wall of pride, female leaders draw on their collaborative and family-oriented instincts to make themselves and their support open and approachable to everyone in need.

  • Multi-Tasking:

Science has proven that women are more geared towards multitasking than men, who are programmed to focus on one thing at a time. As a leader, there’s a lot going on at all times, sometimes requiring leaders to lead, communicate with team members, mend problems and disagreements, and motivate everyone to keep moving. Since women are natural multi-taskers, this kind of balancing act comes second nature to females in leadership roles.

  • Growth:

Women are the nurturers, the people who focus on personal growth through organic improvements. Women are open to continuing reading and learning about new tactics and practices that will complement a workplace setting better than ever before. As naturally self-aware individuals, women have incredibly strong emotional intelligence, able to tap into others’ psyche. With this intel, women curate specific growth paths and patterns for individuals that are custom-tailored to their needs.

Female Leadership

The world would be a better place if more women were permitted to infiltrate leadership-based positions. With a female touch, we’d see more personal growth and development, encouragement, organization, and community bonding through emotional intelligence and plain listening skills. If you’re a woman on the verge of leadership, you will do the world a favor by clinching your spot at the top.

If you’re needing a sounding board, someone to serve as an accountability partner, some coaching or training to “get ready to be ready” for these times.

At ECI we’re passionate about teaching and coaching Women for readiness in critical times of transition in life and work. Creating a frequency of leadership needed at this time and space. Express your Guts with Grace! Learn to Lead Like a Woman!
